President Obama is driving his own car as far as 40 feet or 12 meters! That's what happened last Friday, when he visited the future of the product manufacturer General Motors, Chevrolet Volt in Hammtramck, Detroit, Michigan, United States. Although GM said Obama runs his own driving as far as 12 meters, he admitted to only run the Chevrolet Volt as far as three meters.

It was not easy for Obama to drive a car. For that, he must obtain permission from the guards, the Secret Service. Until now, Obama just sit in a special car disupir presidency and it everywhere.

At the factory, so to see Obama driving a Volt will appear black. In other cases, the committee also had no preparation. Finally guards allow the president to drive a car after the Secret Service had consulted with the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs. Terms of the Secret Service, the car driven by the President must have the air bag (airbag). Apparently, Volt is equipped with eight air valves.

To the reporters and workers who visited the factory, Gibbs said, the President drove the car itself is a remarkable thing. "There has never happened before," explains Gibbs. Last time, Obama was driving his own car four months ago in the Secret Service training facility.

When visiting a factory in Hammtramck Volt, Obama also explained that he used Cadillac limousines, as well as factory assembled.

"Now, I must explain to you who saw me driving myself Volt. Hanya3 meters. They did not allow me to drive any further, "said Obama. "Cadillac, which I also made here. I obtained permission from the Secret Service and felt it a bit, "he added.

Besides the factory Chevrolet Volt, Friday and Obama also visited the Chrysler plant in Jefferson. Both the United States car companies are getting help from the U.S. government because of financial difficulties. Meanwhile, GM is up to now, 61 percent of its shares are still owned by the U.S. government, aka the State Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
